Most commonly work with mix-medium of acrylics, latex, spraypaint, wood, speaker installations.

What tends to inspire you and your work?

My work is currently inspired by music, ancient cultures, and soulful use of colors, patterns and designs. I have love for nostalgic design elements from retro to 80’s pop culture that seems to find itself in subtle ways existing in my work.

If it was not for art I would be………..?

A poor imitation of art.

Do you have any artistic relatives? if so what do they do?

My father was very artistic with his use of a belt. He swung that belt like Polock flings paint to canvas. My brother Julio Quiñonez is an amazing interior designer. My doughter Reina has mastered ducks, hearts, and our family portrait with crayons, markers, and water colors.

Is music part of your creative process? What do you listen to most?

I listen to a wide range from Fela Kuti, Pharaoh Sanders, James brown, to Jay Dilla. Music is like red bull for my creative process without the gross after taste unless Im listening to some Bobby brown.
